What We Do (The Team You’ll Be Part Of):
The Video Podcast Producer will be part of the Digital Media Team, reporting the Manager, Digital Media, and will focus on the expansion of new video podcasts on various platforms and for varying audiences.
The Video Podcast Producer will play a leading role in Fidelity’s digital media production environment, working both independently and in visible team-leading roles to develop and produce numerous Podcasts monthly. The role will also involve supporting the wider Digital Media Team on various aspects of video production, broadcast-quality live webcasts and digital events as required.
In addition to producer responsibilities, the role will also require knowledge of studio equipment and operations, editing, and current distribution and promotion methods.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
Producing: Oversee the technical and creative process for podcast production.
Plan and execute high-quality video podcast recordings by managing equipment setup including cameras, audio, and lighting. This will also include pre-production planning and content development, location scouting, talent management and directing, and adhering to developed Fidelity Canada Digital Media best practices.
Editing, publishing and distribution:
Edit video and audio content to create polished episodes. This includes editing, graphics, music, and branding, as well as final full-length deliverables and short-form promotional pieces. Graphics, subtitles, and bi-lingual thumbnails are also necessary for Bill96 requirements.
Long-term content strategy and development:
Develop and produce plans to expand the Fidelity Canada podcast lineup with a focus on emerging client segments, topics of interest, and languages. Expansion plans will align with organizational goals and audience demand
Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Digital Media team, hosts and guests. Hosts and guests will be a mix of Fidelity Canada employees (portfolio managers, subject-matter experts and thought leaders), as well as external guests. Content ideas are often generated from cross-department discussions with sales, products, marketing, and investment management
What We Are Looking For:
Knowledge of video/webcast/podcast producing including content development, talent management, and directing
Knowledge of digital camera systems and studio equipment, camera capture, shot set-up, lighting, advanced audio capture and related trouble shooting.
Ability to quickly cut videos to music and design/execute related motion graphics.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other video production software, including Premiere, Audition, After Effects, and Photoshop
Basic knowledge of webcast and video conference platforms such as Zoom, including video and audio signal flows between a studio environment, home computer environment and conference room
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required
Understanding of digital technologies and emerging digital trends
Project management and strong organizational abilities are essential
Ability to help foster a collaborative and engaging work environment
The role is not required to be bilingual, but basic understanding of French is recommended.
Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience
Demo reel / video production work samples. Experience in video production, digital media, live TV studio, podcast/webcast, film production, video editing, or equivalent freelance experience
After Effects or equivalent animation, journalism experience or social media “content creator” experience
Experience in financial services or public institutions
Communications related experience in public affairs, journalism, marketing or others
Two-year post-secondary program (or equivalent work experience)

For this role, your total rewards include:
Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: A competitive annual range of $94,000 to $105,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
