Position Summary
Registered Technologist, X-Ray, Medical ImagingYour goal in this position is to perform imaging examinations in the imaging modality of General X-Ray that meet the established standards of the Department and the CMRITO. You have the ability to operate imaging equipment in the department and also have the ability to listen and take direction effectively. You have good communication skills and multi-tasking skills. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment and are easily adaptable. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers , learners, patients and families.
On a practical level, you will
- Perform all imaging examinations as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel
- Implement proper procedures (re: health, safety, and radiation protection) for patients, employees, and visitors
- Assume operational responsibility when on shift
- Assist the Radiologist when required
- Follow proper procedures for care of equipment, imaging rooms and supplies
- Adhere to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital
Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- BCLS certification an asset
- Post-graduate experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Membership with the CAMRT is recommended
- Experience in CT is an asset
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset

This is a Part Time Casual position with 8-hour shifts, days, evenings, nights, including weekends, and on call shifts in the General X-ray, General Radiography department.
