Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Scheduling
- Review customer orders and convert them into detailed production plans.
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on demand and capacity.
- Optimize job sequences to improve throughput and support urgent customer needs.
- Track planned versus actual cycle times and lead times to improve scheduling accuracy.
- Conduct weekly capacity planning reviews to identify resource constraints and ensure schedules align with available machine and labor capacity.
- Monitor WIP levels regularly and adjust production plans to maintain flow and meet order commitments.
Coordination & Communication
- Hold regular alignment touchpoints with engineering and quality to understand routing changes, NCR impacts, and tooling requirements before scheduling decisions are finalized.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and sales to ensure schedule alignment.
- Communicate schedule risks early and provide recovery options to operations and leadership.
- Provide clear weekly updates summarizing schedule changes, customer priorities, and forecast shifts for internal stakeholders.
- Actively communicate the project status with the customers.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Track schedule adherence and highlight variances with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support root-cause investigations tied to schedule delays, including material shortages, machine downtime, or process bottlenecks.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing queue time, eliminating bottlenecks, and streamlining planning processes.
- Identify inaccurate ERP data such as routings, operations, and lead cleanup or correction activities.
- Support implementation of digital planning tools and Industry 4.0 initiatives where applicable.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all routings, revisions, and planning documentation align with the most current released engineering and quality records.
- Ensure scheduling practices comply with quality, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Generate regular reports on production status, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, and capacity loading.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in management, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling. Experience in advanced manufacturing (aerospace, automotive, additive manufacturing, precision machining, electronics, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in capacity planning, demand forecasting, or production load modelling.
- Experience working in environments with strict configuration control and revision management.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel and production planning tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with complex or rapidly changing customer forecasts and translating them into stable production plans.
- Ability to proactively identify planning risks and develop mitigation or recovery plans.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, routings, and capacity planning.
- Strong ability to interpret and validate manufacturing data such as run times, queue times, and routing accuracy.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when maintaining ERP/MRP data inputs.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $61,200 to $76,500. Actual salary will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most offers will fall within this range and not at the maximum, allowing room for future growth. This position is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus based on individual and business performance factors, in accordance with Samuel’s applicable incentive policy.
