Senior Financial Analyst – Sales & Revenue

Join Sage’s Sales & Revenue Finance team (Commercial Finance) and work closely with Finance Business Partners to support Sales and Sales Operations leadership. Deliver financial insights that guide business performance and growth.

You’ll analyze revenue performance and SaaS (Software as a Service) metrics to support data‑driven decisions. The role offers visibility across the business, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a global SaaS organization.

Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from our Toronto Office and 2 days from home (Monday & Friday).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience as financial analyst or FP&A analyst.
• Experience working within a SaaS or subscription‑based revenue model.
• Understanding of P&L management and revenue recognition principles under IFRS and/or GAAP.
• Proven experience in financial data modeling and variance analysis, using insights to explain business performance, support forecasting, and guide decisions.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
• Proficiency and hands‑on experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g. HFM, Adaptive, Office Connect, SAP Fusion, Sage Intacct) and Salesforce and Power BI for analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on process improvement and data accuracy.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with Finance Business Partners, Commercial/Sales Leadership, and Sales Operations teams.
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to present findings and influence decisions across different stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance Business Partners, Commercial Operations, and Sales leadership to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.
• Support the month‑end close process with the Accounting team, ensuring completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition.
• Ensure accuracy and reporting of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) across product lines.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis on Revenue and ARR vs budget and forecast.
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards delivering financial insights and highlighting key performance trends.
• Develop and enhance financial models integrating multiple data sources to support decision‑making.
• Prepare and maintain P&L reporting with accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient financial processes and compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen forecasting, budgeting, and reporting accuracy.
• Utilize and master financial systems and tools across Commercial Finance and Group Reporting teams.
• Provide proactive financial analysis and guidance, establishing yourself as a trusted resource.

Compensation

Target base salary range: C$100,000 to C$125,000 (location dependent). Includes a 15% bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
