The Senior Project Manager - Highways will provide senior level technical direction, mentor and support junior to intermediate staff, contribute to management initiatives, and serve as a key contact with clients. Experience in a Project Management role with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) is required. In addition, liaising with regulatory agencies, networking with other professionals and new business development.

Location – Southern Ontario

Your role within the team

• Manage Highway Design projects in Ontario, leading a team of engineers, designers, other disciplines and consultants as required on a project basis to meet MTO requirements.
• Maintain project budgets, schedules, risk registers.
• Communications with project team, client staff and project stakeholders.
• Lead technical proposals for highway design pursuits and similar transportation engineering work.
• Ensure all deliverables meet client requirements and all applicable standards, codes and regulations.
• Maintain required quality system standards and procedures.
• Embrace and actively support behaviour-based workplace health and safety policies.

The ideal candidate

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in Ontario.
• Highway engineering knowledge and skills recognized by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, sufficient for approval in MTO RAQS.
• Minimum 10 years’ demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary highway planning and design projects, particularly with 400-series highways and interchanges.
• Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary highway planning and design projects being recognized as Project Manager by MTO.
• Computer Skills - MS Office, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, and other relevant industry-standard tools.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
