Cook 1 - Chateau Lacombe

Are you ready to take the next step in your culinary career? We’re looking for a Cook 1 (First Cook) to bring skill, creativity, and leadership to our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Executive and Sous Chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences while mentoring junior team members and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.


What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook high-quality food items for restaurant service and banquet functions.

• Ensure food presentation and preparation meet or exceed guest expectations and culinary standards.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in line with Health & Safety policies.

• Train, guide, and support junior cooks, apprentices, and new hires.

• Prepare daily mise en place and support smooth day-to-day operations.

• Monitor inventory, properly store food, and follow all sanitation requirements.

What You Bring

• Red Seal Journeyman Cook certification preferred (or equivalent experience in a high-volume kitchen)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Second Cook, ideally in a hospitality environment.

• Certifications as required by local health code (training provided where necessary).

• Excellent knife skills and a strong knowledge of kitchen operations.

• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
