Job description

Req ID:513337

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Wayside Track Products Technical Manager in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical leadership and engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of professionals.

You'll play a pivotal role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system, contributing to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas’ On-Corridor Works project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, sourcing, installation, and commissioning), manage technical communications with stakeholders, and ensure the successful integration of Alstom's solutions into the project.

You’ll specifically take care of managing the technical scope of the project and coordinating with internal and external sub-systems interfaces, but also ensuring the technical consistency of the project through strong engineering process management.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Being the technical representative in front of customers, internal and external stakeholders

  • Managing technical communications and securing customer acceptance of project solutions

  • Organizing design reviews and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations

  • Coordinating with project core teams to integrate Alstom solutions

  • Providing technical input for deployment, sourcing, and industrialization activities

  • Solving technical issues in collaboration with design and sub-system teams

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

  • Professional Engineer of Ontario (or readiness to obtain)

  • 8 years of professional experience in engineering or technical functions

  • Experience or understanding of railway signalling systems

  • Knowledge of urban or railway systems integration

  • Proficiency in managing diverse teams and fostering collaboration

  • Strong technical leadership and decision-making skills

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our inclusive and dynamic working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards senior technical or managerial roles

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $115,000 – $150,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring

We do not use artificial intelligence in the recruiting process for this role.

Interview Process & Candidate Communication

Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date.

This job posting represents an existing vacancy.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
