The Product Knowledge team is at the epicenter of eBays Tech-driven Customer-centric overhaul. Our team is entrusted with creating and using eBays Product Knowledge - a vast Big Data system which is built up of listings transactions products knowledge graphs and more. Our team has a mix of highly proficient people from multiple fields such as Machine Learning Data Science Software Engineering Operations and Big Data Analytics. What you will accomplish:

• Own a functional area end-to-end; set coding and documentation standards

• Communicate risks/trade-offs and influence decisions across the team

• Map business problems to production-ready solutions; drive ramp launch and observability

• Champion engineering excellence: security scalability performance availability

• Identify cross-system gaps; propose solutions and drive resolution

What you will bring:

• Passion and commitment for technical excellence

• . Computer Science or an equivalent professional experience

• 36 years building production systems across web backend or mobile

• Proficiency in

  • web frontend framework (React/TypeScript)

  • backend runtime

  • mobile stack proficiency in iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose)

• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs microservices and eventdriven patterns; integrating mobile clients with backend APIs

• Solid understanding of data modeling and persistence plus NoSQL; caching

• Handson with cloud containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD ; mobile CI/release tooling (Fastlane Gradle Xcode/Xcode Cloud)

• Strong testing discipline (unit integration contract E2E) across web backend and mobile; code reviews and documentation

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

C$142400 - C$190100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including location skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility various paid time off benefits such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
