Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 1 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
1. Varicent ICS System Integration & Architecture
• Design and develop system integration architectures for Varicent ICS, including data flows, APIs, and middleware.
• Build, test, and deploy Varicent integration components including ETL flows, pre processing scripts, reports, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with interface/system teams to design and develop APIs and integration touchpoints.
• Ensure downstream and upstream system impact is fully considered during design and change management.
2. Varicent ICS Configuration & Technical Development
• Configure Varicent ICS modules such as Composer, Presenter, Workflow Manager, and WebForms.
• Develop data models, system tables, and components using Varicent ICM platform capabilities.
• Support modernization and migration efforts, including converting legacy reports to Varicent Presenter Adaptive formats.
3. Data Processing & ETL Management
• Build and maintain pre processing routines using Python, .NET, PL/SQL, or similar technologies to prepare data for Varicent.
• Conduct workshops to understand data and integration requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
4. Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
• Lead unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and UAT cycles for Varicent integration components.
• Conduct impact analysis to ensure new enhancements do not introduce regressions.
• Own issue troubleshooting end to end, logging and maintaining tickets in systems like Jira.
5. Collaboration, Governance & Continuous Improvement
• Partner with business analysts, compensation teams, IT teams, and SMEs to align integration deliverables with business rules.
• Document solution designs, technical specifications, and integration maps.
• Share best practices and learnings from the Varicent Community and professional networks.
• Participate in retrospectives to drive continuous improvement of integration quality, timelines, and automation.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 5–10+ years of experience in Varicent ICS / ICM implementation, development, or system integration.
• Hands on experience with Composer, Presenter, Workflow Manager, WebForms, and other Varicent modules.
• Strong background designing data models, structured analysis techniques, and system architecture for compensation platforms.
• Expertise in building integrations and performing Varicent configuration, design, testing, and deployment.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, JavaScript, PL/SQL, or similar languages for data transformation and integration tasks.
• Strong understanding of sales compensation processes and operational workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in enterprise-scale Varicent implementations or modernization programs.
• Familiarity with cloud-based Varicent environments, AI-enabled features, and advanced reporting frameworks like Presenter Adaptive.
• Knowledge of Jira or similar ticketing systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
