What is the Opportunity?

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Transmission Construction Manager is responsible for leading the safe and effective execution of high‑voltage electrical transmission construction within their assigned scope. This role oversees day‑to‑day field operations involving transmission lines, substations, and other high‑voltage electrical infrastructure, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements. Working closely with project leadership and site function leads, the Transmission Construction Manager coordinates Administration, Engineering, and Construction activities to maintain workflow, resolve issues, and support seamless delivery of high‑voltage (HV) and transmission‑related construction work. The individual represents the company on site through professional interaction with clients, subcontractors, union representatives, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project needs. The Transmission Construction Manager supports planning and scheduling by developing detailed transmission construction and look‑ahead plans, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed. As a key contributor to project culture and team performance, the Supervisor fosters a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment while upholding company policies, maintaining documentation, and contributing to risk identification and change management processes related to high‑voltage electrical projects.

What You'll Do Here:

• Implement and monitor Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and plans specific to high‑voltage electrical transmission work.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee execution of transmission and high‑voltage electrical construction to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Monitor progress and take corrective action to maintain schedule and quality for HV electrical activities.
• Coordinate Administration, Engineering, and Construction efforts supporting transmission line and substation work.
• Represent the company professionally in routine client interactions and technical updates related to electrical transmission.
• Ensure contracts remain current, including timely processing of change orders for transmission or high‑voltage scope revisions.
• Ensure full compliance with local legislative, company, and project requirements related to electrical and transmission standards.
• Maintain a positive project culture through regular engagement and team support.
• Liaise with subcontractors, unions, and regulatory bodies to support uninterrupted electrical transmission work.
• Review and approve cost reports, ensuring accurate profit projections based on high‑voltage construction activities.
• Collaborate with PMO, Quality, Design, Project Controls, and site leads during handover and setup of electrical transmission projects.
• Develop detailed construction schedules aligned with the overall transmission project plan.
• Maintain a strong understanding of project scope and contracted obligations, especially regarding high‑voltage electrical installations.
• Identify risks, support mitigation planning, and implement solutions for transmission and HV electrical construction challenges.
• Identify out‑of‑scope requests, raise change issues to PMO, and implement updates to schedule, materials, or subcontracting.
• Prepare detailed look‑ahead schedules and ensure staffing and materials meet upcoming transmission/HV electrical needs.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Technical school background or a minimum of five years’ experience in high‑voltage electrical or transmission construction.
• Basic computer skills, preferably in Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with experience managing teams on an electrical transmission or high‑voltage construction site.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work for self and others in a complex HV electrical environment.
• High level of professionalism in interactions with all stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, transparency, and sound decision‑making.
• Demonstrated managerial courage and ability to build high‑performing teams.
• Strong critical thinking, adaptive thinking, and strategic orientation.
• Fluent understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems, transmission construction methods, and safe work practices.

Pay Range: $71.00 - $92.00 per hour.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
