Role description :

Arcadis is seeking casual employees to work mostly night shifts and weekends at theCity of Toronto at the RESCU Traffic Operations Centre 703 Don Mills Road Toronto ON for managing their day-to-day operations responsibilities. As a TOC Operator at the City of Toronto Traffic Operations Centre youll be responsible for operating a variety of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and information systems.

Your primary duties will include monitoring roadways for ongoing traffic movements incidents dispatching and coordinating with First Responders disseminating traveler information and managing database entries. Starting pay for this role is $19 / hr.

Role accountabilities :

• Operate ITS devices and information systems on a multi-monitor computer workstationworking with critical data that informs the safe operation of the city transport infrastructure.
• Monitor roadways for traffic incidents and coordinate with First Respondersin a timely professional and concise manner.
• Disseminate traveler information and manage real-time data entry database.
• Work in a 24 / 7 / 365 environment with flexible shift times including holidays.
• Working on a as-needed basis with a possibility to convert to working ona part-time basis
• Dispatching City staff and contracted crews for routine and emergency road traffic maintenance activities.
• Collect review validate and disseminate road restriction / closure information to the public with the aim of causing the least disruption to the general public.
