WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
The Intermediate Environmental Permitting Specialist will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, assisting with and supporting environmental permitting projects for mine sites located across Canada. Project responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clients in navigating regulatory pathways for environmental approvals
- Preparing environmental permitting applications and compliance reports
- Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting surface water and groundwater monitoring data
- Participating in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and stakeholder/rightsholder groups
- Assisting senior scientists with proposal preparation and contributing to components of larger, multidisciplinary projects
- Working under mentoring and supervision while contributing to project delivery
THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience
- Experience supporting environmental approvals for mining projects
- Demonstrated consulting and project management experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel
Assets
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and territorial environmental legislation
- Experience with assimilative capacity studies, water quality data interpretation, and wastewater management planning
- Experience with mine closure planning
- Professional accreditation (P.Eng. or P.Geo), or eligibility for accreditation
