Job description


As a General Maintenance Technician - Handyman, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including:

  • Relocate and shift office furniture.

  • Assemble furniture purchased through office supply vendors, , PC carts, display racks, keyboard trays, mailboxes, etc.

  • Provide support with catering and refreshment setups where needed for employee meetings.

  • Provide feedback on issues that require outside assistance.

  • Perform various carpentry tasks and repair work on restroom sinks, stalls, fixtures, cabinet doors, closet doors, locks, etc.

  • Provide mailroom support if needed.

  • Collaborate with Office Services to support Building Services operation.

  • Help ensure pantry supplies, snacks and beverages are ordered and restocked as needed.

  • Conduct daily walkthrough inspections of the facility and address/report accordingly.

  • Perform re-lamping assignments as needed.

  • Help ensure that conference rooms are well maintained and ready for daily use.

  • Work closely with the Office Services team to address unsafe conditions.

  • Monitor freight corridors to help ensure that they are neat and clutter-free.

  • Assist with employee relocation projects; provide necessary support during move activity.

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting (non-licensed).

  • Provide preventive maintenance support if needed.

  • Complete work orders through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Comply with all company, OSHA, and site-specific EHS policies.

  • Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.

  • Maintain a service-oriented mindset in a corporate environment.

  • May be required to travel locally to other locations for support.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Three years of experience in a corporate office environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at client location.

  • Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.

  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.

  • May be required to work holidays and weekends.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Must be punctual.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, , listening to customer needs, articulating path forward and giving solutions that provide value to the customer, etc.

  • Strive for quick complaint resolution; to resolve problems on the first call and avoid escalation of issues through operational knowledge.

Physical/Special Requirements Include:

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and/or scaffold.

  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, and wrist movement.

  • Walk extensively throughout the facilities during shift.

  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.

  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Requirements :

  • Technical degree preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.

  • Experience using a CMMS; Maximo experience is a plus.

  • Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

À titre de Technicien(ne) général(e) en entretien – Homme/Femme à tout faire, vous serez responsable des activités de soutien quotidiennes, incluant notamment :

  • Déplacer et réorganiser le mobilier de bureau.

  • Assembler le mobilier acheté auprès de fournisseurs de fournitures de bureau, par exemple : chariots pour PC, présentoirs, plateaux pour claviers, boîtes aux lettres, etc.

  • Offrir un soutien pour l’installation de services de traiteur et de rafraîchissements au besoin lors de réunions des employés.

  • Fournir de la rétroaction concernant les enjeux nécessitant une assistance externe.

  • Effectuer divers travaux de menuiserie et de réparation, notamment sur les lavabos de salles de toilette, cloisons, accessoires, portes d’armoires, portes de placards, serrures, etc.

  • Fournir un soutien au service du courrier au besoin.

  • Collaborer avec les Services de bureau afin de soutenir les opérations des Services du bâtiment.

  • Aider à s’assurer que les fournitures de la cuisine, collations et boissons sont commandées et réapprovisionnées au besoin.

  • Effectuer des inspections quotidiennes des installations et intervenir ou signaler les situations en conséquence.

  • Effectuer le remplacement des lampes (re-lamping) au besoin.

  • Veiller à ce que les salles de conférence soient bien entretenues et prêtes pour une utilisation quotidienne.

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe des Services de bureau afin de corriger les conditions dangereuses.

  • Surveiller les zones de circulation du fret afin de s’assurer qu’elles demeurent propres et dégagées.

  • Aider aux projets de relocalisation des employés et fournir le soutien nécessaire lors des déménagements.

  • Effectuer du dépannage électrique de base (sans licence).

  • Fournir un soutien en maintenance préventive au besoin.

  • Compléter les bons de travail à l’aide d’un système informatisé de gestion de la maintenance (GMAO/CMMS).

  • Se conformer à toutes les politiques de l’entreprise, de l’OSHA et aux politiques SSE propres au site.

  • Participer aux formations en santé et sécurité, aux réunions de sécurité (toolbox talks) et au signalement des incidents.

  • Maintenir une approche axée sur le service dans un environnement corporatif.

  • Peut être appelé(e) à se déplacer localement vers d’autres sites pour offrir du soutien.

  • Effectuer toute autre tâche assignée par le gestionnaire ou le superviseur.

Exigences minimales :

  • Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent démontré.

  • Trois (3) années d’expérience dans un environnement de bureau corporatif ou une combinaison équivalente d’études et d’expérience.

  • Capacité à travailler dans un environnement dynamique et à gérer plusieurs tâches simultanément.

  • Capacité d’obtenir un badge d’accès de sécurité au site du client.

  • Capacité de lire et de comprendre l’information contenue dans divers documents ou affichée sur un écran d’ordinateur.

  • Capacité d’obtenir un permis de conduire approprié délivré par le ministère des Transports de l’État, sur demande.

  • Ce poste n’inclut pas le parrainage pour l’autorisation de travail aux États-Unis.

Autres aptitudes :

  • Disponibilité à effectuer des heures supplémentaires au besoin.

  • Peut être requis de travailler les jours fériés et les fins de semaine.

  • Connaissance de la suite Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Excellentes compétences en communication et grand souci du détail. Ponctualité exigée.

  • Excellentes aptitudes interpersonnelles, notamment : écoute des besoins des clients, capacité à expliquer les démarches à suivre et à proposer des solutions à valeur ajoutée.

  • Viser une résolution rapide des plaintes; résoudre les problèmes dès le premier contact et éviter l’escalade grâce à une bonne connaissance opérationnelle.

Exigences physiques et particulières :

  • Soulever régulièrement des charges allant jusqu’à 23 kg (50 lb).

  • Monter régulièrement des échelles, escaliers et/ou échafaudages.

  • Effectuer des mouvements répétitifs : se pencher, se courber, s’accroupir, s’agenouiller, s’étirer, atteindre et mouvements des poignets.

  • Marcher longuement dans les installations durant le quart de travail.

  • Travailler à un rythme accéléré lors de situations d’urgence.

  • Capacité à différencier les couleurs liées au codage des fils électriques.

  • Porter des chaussures de sécurité à embout d’acier, des lunettes de sécurité, des gants, des casques et tout autre équipement de protection individuelle requis.

  • Capacité de composer avec les exigences (facteurs de stress) associées au poste et/ou à l’environnement de travail.

Exigences souhaitées :

  • Diplôme technique (un atout).

  • Capacité à lire et à comprendre des manuels de réparation, des spécifications, des dessins et des schémas.

  • Expérience avec un système de GMAO (CMMS); une expérience avec Maximo est un atout.

  • Expérience dans l’interprétation d’instructions présentées sous forme écrite, orale, schématique ou sous forme d’horaires.
