Job Description :

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the incumbent will be responsible for optical design, inspection test design, automation software tools.

He will ensure that the costs and "manufacturability" of the proposed optical solutions are optimal, support the transfer of design to production with the drafting of various documents and the validation of test configurations.

He will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of optical inspection equipment, will interact with the various engineering, quality control and operations units throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities :

  • Analyze and validate optical design configurations according to the appropriate military and / or civil standards, and with customer specifications
  • Assist in product design in collaboration with the units of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering "manufacturing"
  • Perform digital simulations using LightTools
  • Develop and support automation tools, test benches and the calibration of measuring instruments
  • Write test protocols and work instructions
  • Provide technical support to the test / failure analysis service

Relevant du directeur de lingénierie, le titulaire du poste sera responsable de conception optique, de conception de tests dinspection, doutils logiciels dautomatisation et sassurera que les coøts et la manufacturabilité des solutions optiques proposées sont optimales.

Il supportera le transfert du design en production avec la rédaction de différents documents et la validation des configurations de test, sera responsable de la maintenance du parc déquipement dinspection optique.

Il interagira avec les différentes unités d'ingénierie, de contrôle qualité et des opérations sur lensemble du cycle de vie du produit.

Responsabilités :

  • Analyser et valider des configurations de conceptions optiques selon les normes militaires et / ou civiles appropriées, et avec les spécifications des clients
  • Aider à la conception de produit en collaboration avec les unités de génie mécanique, de génie électrique, de génie manufacturing
  • Réaliser des simulations numériques à laide de LightTools
  • Développer et supporter les outils dautomatisation, les bancs de test et la calibration dinstruments de mesure
  • Rédiger des protocoles de tests et des instructions de travail
  • Faire le support technique au service de test / analyse de défaillance

Position Requirements

Requirements :

  • B. Sc. Physics, engineering physics, electrical engineering or other related field
  • M.Sc. in a related field is an asset
  • Experience in the design and characterization of optical assembly and / or opto-electronic components
  • VBA, LabVIEW, Python, Java, or other programming experience is a strong asset
  • Experience in the development of computer aided tests is an asset
  • Experience with digital optical simulation software is an asset (LightTools, Optis, ...)
  • Experience with CAD software is an asset (SolidWorks)
  • Experience with optical measurement equipment, vision systems is an asset
  • Experience in technology transfer (prototyping to production) is an asset
  • Knowledge of materials / paints / surface treatments is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in English and French both orally and in writing
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Compensation according to experience, full range of benefits, stock purchase program, flexible 36-44 hour daytime work schedule allowing for a Friday off every 2 weeks.

Exigences :

  • B. Sc. physique, génie physique, génie électrique ou autre domaine relié
  • M.Sc. dans un domaine connexe est un atout
  • Expérience dans la conception et la caractérisation de montage optique et / ou de composantes opto-électroniques
  • Expérience de programmation VBA, LabVIEW, Python, Java, ou autre est un atout important
  • Expérience dans le développement de tests assistés par ordinateur est un atout
  • Expérience avec logiciel de simulation optique numérique est un atout (LightTools, Optis, ...)
  • Expérience avec logiciel de CAD est un atout (SolidWorks)
  • Expérience des équipements de mesure optique, des systèmes de vision est un atout
  • Expérience en transfert technologique (prototypage à production) est un atout
  • Connaissances dans les matériaux / peintures / traitements de surface sont un atout
  • Capacité à communiquer en anglais et en français autant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit
  • Aptitudes interpersonnelles et capacité à travailler en équipe
