Job Title: Training Specialist – Senior
Location: Toronto, ON, Canada (On‑site)
Duration: 8 months (possible extension)
Client: Public healthcare sector (preferred)
Pay Rate: C$45–C$55 per hour
Position Summary
The Senior Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining training and communication materials that support enterprise Management Information Systems (MIS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) within a public‑sector healthcare environment. The role requires expertise in training documentation, online learning platforms, stakeholder engagement, and end‑user support, with a strong focus on privacy, security, and legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, review, and maintain training curricula, education strategies, and documentation for MIS and HRIS solutions
- Support and maintain online learning management systems, including documentation updates and content governance
- Guide the design and development of training and communication materials for working groups, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- Facilitate working groups, workshops, information sessions, and webinars to assess and address training needs
- Deliver and support technical training related to MIS and HRIS systems, reporting tools, and compliance requirements
- Create, manage, and publish project and operational communications through established approval processes
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Apply industry best practices to ensure privacy, security, and information protection compliance
- Ensure training materials align with personal health information protection legislation and organizational policies
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in the design, development, and review of training documentation
- Hands‑on experience supporting and maintaining online learning management systems
- Extensive experience delivering end‑user training and customer support
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in public‑sector healthcare environments
- Strong understanding of personal health information protection legislation
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate group sessions and webinars
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to meet tight deadlines
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
- Experience with MIS reporting enhancements for healthcare environments
- Familiarity with healthcare reporting standards
- Experience with materials management systems
- Experience with HRIS platforms, including HR, Payroll, Scheduling, Leave Management, and workforce modules
