Job description

Overview

Join a Challenger. Being a traditional bank isn’t our thing, so we challenge ourselves to get creative in providing innovative banking solutions for Canadians. How do we get there? With a talented team of inquisitive and agile challengers that break through the status quo. If you’re passionate about redefining the future of banking—while having fun—this could be your next big opportunity. Our company serves more than 780,000 customers across Canada through Equitable Bank, Canada's Challenger Bank, and has been around for more than 50 years. Equitable Bank's wholly-owned subsidiary, Concentra Bank, supports credit unions across Canada that serve more than six million members. Together we have over $138 billion in combined assets under management and administration, with a clear mandate to drive change in Canadian banking to enrich people’s lives. Our customers have named our EQ Bank digital platform (eqbank.ca) one of the top banks in Canada on the Forbes World’s Best Banks list since 2021.

The Work

The Manager, AI Enablement Operations is responsible for running the operational engine of the bank’s AI program. This role ensures that AI platforms, training, communications, and adoption programs work in practice, not just on paper. The role sits within the AI Centre of Enablement (AI CoE) and acts as the execution layer between AI strategy, governance, and the business. While senior leadership sets direction and risk posture, this role ensures the organisation can actually use AI day to day. This includes owning the AI Champions program, AI training pathways, enterprise AI communications, and the operational enablement of platforms such as M365 Copilot and Microsoft Foundry.

The Core Responsibilities!

  • AI Champions and Adoption Programs
  • Own the AI Champions operating model, onboarding, cadence, and engagement
  • Maintain playbooks, expectations, and communication channels for Champions
  • Ensure Champions are actively driving AI usage within their business units
  • AI Training and Capability Enablement
  • Own the White, Blue, and Black Belt AI pathways
  • Build and manage certifications, completion tracking, and reporting
  • Coordinate training content, learning sessions, and follow-up communications
  • Partner with HR and the AI CoE to embed AI capability into the workforce
  • AI Communications and Enablement Content
  • Run all AI CoE communications channels, including updates, showcases, and announcements
  • Build and maintain executive, leadership, and enterprise AI presentation decks
  • Ensure employees understand what AI tools are available, how to use them, and what is approved
  • AI Platform Enablement and Administration
  • Act as the operational owner for M365 Copilot and Microsoft Foundry enablement
  • Coordinate with CloudOps, Security, GitHub, and Microsoft on:
  • Licensing and access
  • Platform readiness
  • Changes, issues, and escalations
  • Ensure AI platforms are usable, supported, and aligned to governance requirements
  • Adoption, Engagement, and Readiness Tracking
  • Track training completion, Champions activity, tool usage, and engagement
  • Maintain dashboards and operational reporting for the AI CoE
  • Identify adoption gaps and work with leaders to close them

What Success Looks Like

  • AI Champions are active and visible in every business unit
  • Employees move through clear AI learning pathways
  • Copilot and Foundry access is well managed and predictable
  • AI communications are regular, clear, and trusted
  • Leadership is not pulled into day-to-day enablement or platform issues

Let’s Talk About You!

  • Experience and Profile
  • Strong program or operations leadership experience in technology, digital, or enterprise platforms
  • Comfortable working across IT, Security, Data, HR, and business teams
  • Experience running enterprise enablement, adoption, or platform rollout programs
  • Highly organized, execution-focused, and able to keep multiple workstreams moving
  • Able to translate strategy into operational delivery

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, information systems, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in enablement, platform operations, transformation, or related domains
  • Experience in financial services or similar regulated environment is an asset
  • Exposure to AI productivity tooling and value frameworks preferred

What we offer [For full-time permanent roles]

  • 💰 Competitive discretionary bonus
  • ✨ Market leading RRSP match program
  • 🩺 Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits
  • 📝 Employee Share Purchase Plan
  • 👶🏽 Maternity/Parental top-up while you care for your little one
  • 🏝 Generous vacation policy and personal days
  • 🖥 Virtual events to connect with your fellow colleagues
  • 🎓 Professional development and comprehensive Career Development program
  • 💛 A fulfilling opportunity to join one of the top FinTechs and help create a new kind of banking experience

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.

Equitable Bank is deeply committed to inclusion. Our organization is stronger and our employees thrive when we honour and celebrate everyone’s diverse experiences and perspectives. In tandem with that commitment, we support and encourage our staff to grow not just in their career path, but personally as well. We commit to providing a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment for all applicants. Please let us know of any accommodations needed so that you can bring your best self to the application process and beyond. All candidates considered for hire must successfully pass a criminal background check and credit check to qualify for hire.
