Supervisor, Accounting Services

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Supervisor, Accounting Services leads and coaches a team in maintaining and enhancing the coordination and delivery of a wide variety of financial services, ensuring accuracy as well as a high level of quality and adherence to policy and procedures. This role activates TRCA’s finance team as a strategic partner by embedding management accounting practices, elevating policy discipline and delivering the financial tools and insights divisions need to make timely informed decisions.

  • Oversees and conducts quality control of all financial reporting and analysis ranging in complexity and variety of services
  • Provides guidance and advice to the team on addressing applicable accounting services in accordance to legislation and policies
  • Oversees and supports the teams delivery of finance and accounting training to TRCA staff
  • Coordinates year end financial reporting and external audit documents with the Controller completing various analysis and working papers for TRCA and TRCF
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of industry best practices, more efficient financial processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology
  • Escalates any complex or sensitive matters to the Controller
  • Leads a team of staff and ensures that team members understand expectations; communicates schedule, tasks and discusses priorities of items
  • Supports onboarding and provides on the job training and support as needed for individuals; also identifies any gaps in or potential improvement areas for training, development, process, resources, or procedures

Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation Lead

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Lead implementation of TRCA’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution.

  • Monitors budget and timelines, developing strategies to mitigate variances from the project plan

Park Attendant

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Park Attendant is responsible for customer service, user fee collection and maintenance of TRCA lands, ski trails, grounds, and rental shop, along with cleaning buildings and facilities.

  • Performs basic winter grounds clearing maintenance, utilizing various grounds tools and equipment to conduct the work, performing safety inspections prior to usage

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Clerk, Accounting Services provides support to the finance business unit by posting and processing financial transactions while ensuring accurate coding and data entry. This role main responsibility is the day‑to‑day accounts payable and assist with accounting related transactions.

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Lead Hand carries out construction activities on environmental, engineering, construction and forestry, and maintenance projects for assigned sub‑project elements.

Enforcement Officer

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Enforcement and Compliance, the Enforcement Officer will play an important role in the Authorities objectives to prevent, eliminate, or reduce the risk to life and property, and to encourage the protection, enhancement and enjoyment of our natural systems.

  • Conduct regular compliance audits of TRCA Planning and Development permit sites to ensure compliance with site plans, permit conditions, construction techniques and methodology, and environmental controls/protections
  • Identify and effectively address non‑compliance issues and environmental concerns associated with approved development sites
  • Maintain effective client relations with partnering agencies, development industry, and stakeholders
  • Negotiate compliance and required permit amendments or revisions and provide accurate information and advice relating to TRCA regulatory jurisdiction, legislation, and policies
