Job description

Professionalism

  • Manages assigned projects or assignments, including financial oversight.
  • Supervises a team to ensure adherence to established qualitative and quantitative standards.
  • Facilitates the development of junior staff through coaching, knowledge transfer, and internal training programs.
  • Identifies and cultivates new business opportunities with existing clients.

Technical

  • Oversees complex and specialized materials in the following domains: Audit, Review, Notice to Readers, Tax.
  • Maintains quality control standards throughout each assignment or project.
  • Takes responsibility for special assignments.
  • Applies specialized knowledge to proactively anticipate, identify, and address issues pertinent to the client's business.

Interpersonal

  • Allocates resources effectively while providing leadership to the team.
  • Assumes accountability for the financial management of assignments and projects.
  • Responds effectively to client inquiries and suggestions related to assignments.

Development

  • Demonstrates a commitment to remaining informed on new developments within the profession.
  • Enhances the firm's image as business consultants and articulates our brand effectively.
  • Establishes productive working relationships with client contacts throughout assignments.

Summary of Experience

  • Over five years of public accounting experience.

Requirements

  • Holds a University degree in Accounting.
  • Possesses Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding and experience working with the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), along with knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations is essential.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with external clients.
  • Demonstrates robust file management skills and organizational capabilities, able to manage multiple engagements concurrently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experienced in using accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Caseware, Jazz‑it, TaxPrep, and Simply Accounting.
