Job description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS) for a global logistics operation. This role will oversee a complex, cross-functional program involving logistics, IT, DST, finance, and service teams, while working closely with a third-party TMS vendor. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership presence, deep project delivery experience, and hands-on exposure to TMS or large-scale logistics systems.
This position is based in Bolton (Ontario), hybrid.
Duration of contract: 12 months
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the TMS implementation, from project initiation through configuration, testing, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization
- Define and manage project scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
- Coordinate and align internal stakeholders across logistics, IT, DST, finance, and services, ensuring shared ownership of outcomes
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and the external TMS provider, managing expectations, timelines, and deliverables
- Drive detailed project planning, including integrated schedules, resource planning, and budget control
- Ensure business and technical requirements are clearly defined, documented, and translated into system design
- Oversee system testing phases (SIT, UAT), cutover planning, and go-live readiness
- Ensure the solution supports international freight operations, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalating risks and decisions to senior leadership when required
- Maintain strong governance through regular status reporting, steering meetings, and executive updates
- Keep large, diverse teams engaged, focused, and accountable throughout the delivery lifecycle
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of project management experience, delivering complex, enterprise-scale initiatives
- Proven senior-level track record managing large system implementations, preferably within logistics or supply chain environments
- Direct experience implementing or overseeing a Transportation Management System (TMS) is essential
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across both business and technical domains
- Strong experience managing third-party vendors and system integrators
- Confident leadership style with the ability to drive progress, manage conflict, and maintain momentum
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to and engaging senior stakeholders and executives
- Strong risk management, issue resolution, and decision-making capabilities
- Experience with international freight movement, trade compliance, or global supply chain operations
- Background delivering programs that span multiple geographies or business units
- Experience working in fast-paced, complex operational environments
- Fluent English
Expected Compensation Range:
50K-130K per year. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
Canadian Experience Requirement:
No Canadian work experience is required for this position. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of previous Canadian experience.
