Cabinetmaker

Overview

Allwood Carpentry Manufacturing is now hiring skilled CABINETMAKERS to join our busy team.

Requirements:

– At least 5 years of experience as a cabinetmaker

– Ability to work independently with limited supervision

– Attention to detail, manual dexterity

– Steel-toed safety shoes

– Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Duties:

– Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components

– Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage

– Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made

– Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit (cabinets, built-ins, furniture and millwork) and reinforce joints

– Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products

– Prepare and apply laminated plastics

– Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools such as planes, chisels or files

– Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products

– Maintain clean and safe work environment

– Supervise other workers

Areas of specialization:

Cabinets, Built-in units, doors and door frames, millwork, kitchen cabinets and vanities

Terms of Employment:

Permanent, Full Time, Day with overtime. Some weekend work required.

Wages:

$36.00 per hour for full-time hours, between 32 and 44 hours per week
