In line with global product strategy and local Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), provide technical assistance to internal and external customers and ensure timely and cost-effective support in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Support Sales organization by providing the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs.

Your responsibilities

  • Offers technical advice and provides comment on enquiry specifications for customers / channels / Sales Engineers with regard to ABB Variable frequency drives / systems / applications and PLC.
  • Provides technical support over the phone, during the technical meeting and product presentation.
  • Performs analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs.
  • Proposes technical solutions for simple to complex drives and PLC enquiries.
  • Prepares and delivers technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers on complex product issues.
  • Offers product / solution / service related training for ABB Variable frequency drives and PLC.
  • Executes wrap-up and follow-up (when needed) of support cases, in a timely manner.
  • Plans and executes work as per first-time right approach with customers, and ensures the job is done on time and as per quality standards.
  • Identifies improvement needs and potential solutions for them in the ways of working and the products in question and drives improvement actions in their own area of responsibility.
  • Acts as a technical consultant for system-level / application specific issues in their own specific area of expertise.
  • Ensures learnings from ongoing support cases are used to create / update knowledge documentation.

Your background

  • Electrical engineering degree or electronic college degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in AC & DC Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
  • Good factory automation and electrification best practice knowledge.
  • Good industrial fieldbus communication protocol knowledge.
  • Written and spoken (English). French an asset.
  • High customer focus.
  • Teamwork oriented and demonstrate high level of initiative, problem solving, information seeking and eager to learn.
  • Good sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Microsoft Power platform knowledge an asset
