Reporting to the Production and Distribution Controller in Montreal, this position is responsible for the production and analysis of financial reporting and the full accounting cycle for the English Unscripted / Kids & Family division.
Key responsibilities include :
- Review weekly payments (including payroll) across all development and production projects
- Review monthly sales tax returns and government and guild remittances
- Invoice and ensure collection of amounts provided for in service contracts, broadcast licenses and financing agreements for both production and development
- Produce the weekly cashflow and ensure proper funding of bank accounts
- Ensure reconciliation of intercompany balances across divisions
- Execute the accounting and business setup of new production companies
- Manage the bank platforms across all divisions
- Execute monthly statutory reporting to the banks
- Maintain bill back schedules for active productions and ensure timely invoicing of internal charges
- Manage the execution of the month end and quarter end close process, ensuring mandatory reporting is done on time
- Prepare fiscal year end packages for all production entities and assist in audit requests
- Ensure compliance and manage the execution on all reporting requirements for distribution revenues (guild residuals, investors and profit participants)
- Manage special projects and ad hoc reports as needed
Profil
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in the Media industry is an asset
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
