About the role

We’re looking for a Image Desk Appraiser to join our growing team!

What you'll do here :

  • Accountable for the direct handling of moderate to complex auto physical damage appraisals.
  • Assess damage, review, monitor, and assure that appraisal compliance is achieved with the preferred vendor network and on remote repair facilities.
  • Responsible for pursuing a cost-effective avenue for repairs, prepare estimates, and negotiate with repair facilities.
  • May be called upon to establish the market value of vehicles based on the information provided by claims adjusters, using the various tools outlined in the appraisers' standards and procedures manual.
  • Use digital automated evaluation systems to standardize repair estimates and avoid errors.
  • Negotiate and communicate a best repair practice or procedure.
  • Ensure productivity and service quality, using the appraisers' standards and procedures manual and relating performance to the Claims Department's quantitative and qualitative objectives.
  • This is a hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to attend our offices at least 2 days per week.

What you bring to the table :

  • 1-3years' auto body repair experience, including knowledge of estimating software (Audatex and Mitchell) or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education in a related industry (or any combination of equivalent education and experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of automobile physical damage repairs and replacement.
  • Computer proficient and able to effectively navigate through various systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Completion of I-Car and / or technical courses is an asset
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capability to draft claims reports.
  • Commitment to continuing education.
  • Must be customer driven.
  • Bilingual is an asset
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
