As a member of our Patient Watch team, you will be responsible for monitoring patients who require additional observation to ensure their safety and well-being. This role is crucial in preventing falls, self-harm, or any other incidents. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations.Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor and observe patients on a continuous basis, ensuring their safety and comfort.Report any changes in patient behavior or condition to the healthcare team promptly.Assist with patient mobility and positioning as neededmunicate effectively with patients to provide reassurance and support.Document observations and activities accurately and promptly.Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency situations or patient needs.Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment.Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations and prevent escalation to violence.Requirements:Valid BC Security Guard LicenseStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare settingPrevious experience in security, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environmentExcellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain composed under pressureBasic computer skills for report writing and incident documentationAbility to complete detailed reports, multi-task, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidaysMust undergo a criminal background checkPost-secondary education in Police Foundations, Community Justice Services, or Law Enforcement is an assetAlignment with Securiguard's core values - Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy & Honesty.If you are ready to make a difference in healthcare security and contribute to a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, we encourage you to apply today and join our team at Securiguard!About UsSecuriguard Services Limited has been at the forefront of the asset protection arena for almost fifty years by being a leading-edge innovative security and safety solution provider.
