Title: Repair Technician
Location: North Bay, ON, P1A 0E7 (On-Site)
Shift time: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Summary
The Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electronic devices, including laptops, desktops, and tablets. This role includes identifying hardware and software issues, performing repairs, and restoring devices to proper working condition. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, effective time management, attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues based on client descriptions, system logs, physical inspections, diagnostic tools, and component testing.
- Analyze system performance against product specifications and features; research hardware and software issues to determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Replace defective hardware components and perform operating system installation, configuration, and setup.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing results, actions taken, and other relevant repair information.
- Review work order history to support informed repair and service decisions.
- Manage multiple systems and repair orders simultaneously while ensuring repairs are completed within established deadlines.
- Follow established repair workflows and SOPs; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the customer service team regarding authorization requests, escalations, additional information requirements, billable repairs, and extended testing.
- Collaborate with repair technicians to achieve production and turnaround targets, maintain workflow efficiency, and develop product knowledge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of computer systems and components.
- Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and Outlook.
- Troubleshooting skills: the ability to analyze and resolve software, hardware, and firmware related problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a concise and professional manner.
- An aptitude and interest in learning about new hardware, software, and applications.
- A learning-orientation: the ability to take notes, follow instructions, and adapt to changing situations.
- The ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.
