This strategic move underscores our commitment to investing in North America, propelling our expansion to new heights.

A People-First Company - This is an environment of mutual respect where every team member matters, no matter who they are.

A Creative Company - Creativity is in our DNA. This is the fuel that helps us tackle the major challenges of our time.

Joining Egis is an opportunity to make a valuable, positive impact on the world, while growing and developing as a person. Our culture is very collaborative, and we care about people and our impact. We take great pride in being responsible for our clients, for each other and for our planet and its people. You’ll work and innovate in an environment where high standards and personal consideration go hand-in-hand.

Learn more about the exciting opportunity below where you’ll be part of projects renowned for technical excellence, ambition and sustainability!

The Role :

Our highway engineering team is at the forefront of delivering a wide range of MTO design projects, from highway expansion to bridge replacements. As a member of our Highway Engineering Team, this role will focus on the technical aspects of project delivery, particularly utilizing InRoads / OpenRoads software. We're looking for someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges and stays current with advancements in technology and software tools.

Our competitive edge stems from our long-standing relationship with the MTO and our commitment to fostering the growth of our technical team. With a strong blend of engineers and technical staff who thrive on challenges, we consistently deliver high-quality projects. Join us and contribute your expertise to projects such as freeway widening and interchange reconstruction in Barrie, roadway rehabilitation across Northern Ontario, and intersection designs in Southwestern Ontario, shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in Ontario.

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes :

  • Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in highway design, including MTO design. Will consider candidates with less years of experience if it includes MTO highway design.
  • Has developed an excellent reputation working with MTO and local municipalities.
  • Experience with InRoads / Open Roads Design software.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Well developed computer and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and time management.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Designing and drafting of engineering / construction drawings for various projects.
  • Interpreting and implementing standards from regulatory bodies.
  • Producing written reports, meeting minutes, and project correspondence.
  • Producing design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Creating plans, profiles, and design quantities in Civil 3D, InRoads, and Open Roads Design format.
  • Enhancing data charts and tables for presentation.
  • Preparing and checking contract tender item quantities.
  • Preparing tender documents and costs estimates.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Completing initial site inspections / field work for design assignments.
  • Keeping current on the latest design tools and aids in CAD / civil 3D / Microstation / InRoads / Open Roads Design in consultation with senior CAD staff.
  • Egis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients.

We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.

This role is eligible for a referral bonus in line with the Referral Program. If you have been referred, please provide the name of the employee who has referred you at the time of your application.
