Intermediate Systems Administrator/Operations Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Systems Administrator/Operations Support Specialist to assist with cloud migration initiatives and manage modern workplace endpoints. In this role, you will deliver advanced endpoint support, automate server maintenance and software deployments, and oversee Windows 11 device management. Operating within a Microsoft 365 and cloud-first environment, you will build automated PowerShell and Python scripts to streamline daily operational tasks, enforce security compliance, and optimize IT help desk delivery.

Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite – 5 days/week required)

Duration: 3-month contract

Public Sector Experience: Preferred.

Responsibilities
Automation & Scripting: Develop custom PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripts to automate server maintenance, system patching, operational monitoring, backups, and routine software deployments.

Endpoint Management & Deployment: Manage Windows 11 endpoints, configure Windows Autopilot, maintain up-to-date device inventories, and create golden packages for software distribution via Microsoft Intune.

Identity & Access Management: Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), configuring single sign-on (SSO), managing user account lifecycles, and automating role assignments through scripting.

Patch Management & Security Compliance: Establish vulnerability management workflows, execute third-party application patching, enforce device compliance policies, and integrate Microsoft Defender endpoints.

End-User & Operational Support: Provide advanced technical deskside support for desktop hardware, software, and core business applications, maintaining high service quality via help desk ticket systems.

M365 Collaboration Administration: Support and maintain administrative configurations across Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint and Teams.



Qualifications
Automation & Scripting Depth: Strong experience developing PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripts to automate maintenance, patching, backups, and deployments (Strictly Required).

Microsoft Intune & Windows 11 Administration: Hands-on expertise managing Microsoft Intune, Windows 11 updates, Windows Autopilot, and advanced endpoint support (Strictly Required).

Microsoft Entra ID Expertise: Working knowledge administering Microsoft Entra ID, including identity management, SSO setup, and role creation (Strictly Required).

M365 Ecosystem Familiarity: Solid working experience supporting Microsoft 365 platforms, including SharePoint and Teams (Strictly Required).

Hardware & Software Support: Background providing desktop and hardware provisioning, machine building, and help desk ticket resolution.

Highly Preferred Certifications:
MD-102: Endpoint Administrator

SC-900: Security Fundamentals

AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals

MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals

SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
