The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support TDAM's multi-asset trading team. Analysis of trading activities will include both electronic and voice execution for both listed and over-the-counter (OTC) instruments across multiple asset classes. Instruments may include options, futures, foreign exchange, commodities, currency, swaps and interest rate derivatives. The associate will work collaboratively with other members of the team. The associate will help expand analytical capabilities and perform administrative tasks related to derivative trading, and will seek to identify ways of reducing trade costs.

More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of real-time developments in global financial markets and stay up to date on the changing regulatory environment
• Perform quantitative analysis and evaluation of relevant market data, including TCA, as required to support trading strategy decisions
• Assist the Derivatives Trading Team across projects and initiatives, including: (Broker vote enhancement; FX TCA reporting enhancement and trade optimization; Collateral reporting analysis; FX Option Reporting enhancement; Commodity broker revenue analysis and reporting; Low touch execution automation)
• Develop and maintain relationships with trading counterparties and vendors
• Work with portfolio managers to address needs with respect to derivatives products
• Assist with increasing efficiency and effectiveness of technology initiatives and functional enhancements as it relates to derivative trading
• Help expand trading capabilities into new products and/or asset classes

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven high attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of derivative products and financial markets
• Awareness of market structure developments and trading-related technology
• Capable of analyzing complex data sets and making inferences
• Comfortable with working in complex workflow processes
• Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines and rapidly changing financial markets
• Ability to prioritize and effectively multitask
• Ability to work in a team or individually
• Advanced in VBA and working knowledge of other programming languages
• Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to nimbly adapt and upgrade existing procedures and technology to meet changing needs

Educational Requirements:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus on financial engineering or quantitative disciplines is an asset
• Completion of the CFA program is an asset but not required
