OVERVIEW
The Ward Aide is accountable for the delivery of support services that promote patient focused care. The Ward Aide is responsible for selected duties related to maintenance of a safe and clean work environment and for selected duties as they relate to patient care. The Ward Aide is also responsible for specific equipment and supplies in the patient care area.
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Customer focused with a service attitude.
- Ability to work as a member of a team using excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be self-directed and show initiative.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Good decision making skills.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements, specified in the Physical Demands Analysis.
- Must be willing to work in all areas of Renal and Oncology health service (skills and abilities considered).
- Good work and attendance record required.
