ABOUT YOU
You are an energetic and highly motivated certified Group fitness instructor who has experience and an interest in teaching spin classes. You have an excellent understanding of class facilitation, different spin formats, a wide variety of spin workouts, and are well versed in the safe use of spin bikes. You are a team player who is committed to community recreation and has experience teaching in a community setting. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs, and excellent at building relationships. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people with varying fitness levels. In addition, you are experienced in:
- Creating a supportive and engaging environment for participants of all ability levels.
- Adapting exercises to meet varying mobility and experience levels, with a focus on safety.
- Effective communication with participants and recreation staff.
- Tracking attendance and reporting any issues or concerns to your Supervisor.
- Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor as a representative of North Vancouver Recreation and Culture.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a BCRPA Group Fitness certification from a recognized provider or equivalent and a current certification in Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED. Additional certification or experience in facilitating Spin classes is required.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a condition of employment. The pay for this casual position is $34.80 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. Please apply online:
