We are currently managing multiple Controller and Assistant Controller mandates across the Lower Mainland (Location are Vancouver, Burnaby, Delta, Langley, Mission, and Abbotsford). Our clients range from high-growth agricultural manufacturers to multi-entity aviation and marine organizations. By applying to this general posting, you are initiating a direct review process with our senior recruitment team. Upon reviewing your profile, we will reach out to discuss the specific role that best aligns with your career trajectory, compensation expectations, and technical expertise.
We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Financial Leader to join our network of premier clients in the Greater Vancouver area. This is not a "desk-only" role; we are looking for a Controller who thrives in the heart of the business—whether that’s on the manufacturing floor, overseeing a system migration, or partnering directly with a CEO to drive aggressive growth.
The ideal candidate is a CPA-designated professional who excels in project-based environments, possesses a deep understanding of internal controls, and has the leadership "grit" to mentor growing teams. Whether you are a Senior Accountant ready for a succession play or a veteran Controller looking for a high-stakes strategic role, we have a role for you.
AdvantagesCompetitive Compensation: Salary ranges from $90,000 to $150,000+ based on experience and the specific mandate.
Growth & Succession: Multiple roles offer a clear 1–2 year path to full ownership or senior executive leadership.
Comprehensive Benefits: Extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.
Support for Development: Tuition reimbursement for ongoing professional development and CPA dues.
Stability & Culture: Opportunities range from "multicultural family-vibe" environments to high-growth, entrepreneurial manufacturing hubs.
Relocation: Assistance may be available for candidates moving to the Fraser Valley.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Oversight: Act as a financial partner to executive leadership, providing analysis for CapEx, debt financing, and banking covenant compliance.
Full-Cycle Accounting: Own the entire lifecycle of financial reporting, including month-end/year-end close, GST/PST, and multi-entity consolidations.
Systems & Modernization: Lead or support migrations from legacy systems (e.g., Sage 50) to modern ERPs or QuickBooks Online; utilizing APIs and automation to drive efficiency.
Project Costing: Manage complex job costing and project-based distribution in "Just-in-Time" (JIT) manufacturing environments.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff (AP, Payroll, and Junior/Intermediate Accountants), fostering a culture of discipline and accuracy.
Risk & Compliance: Manage foreign currency risks, corporate insurance policies, and prepare for annual SRED claims and CRA audits.
QualificationsDesignation: CPA is required (or near completion for Assistant Controller levels).
Experience: 2–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in Manufacturing, Construction, Aviation, or Logistics.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Enterprise/Online), Sage 50, or large-scale ERP systems (Infor M3, SAP, etc.).
Communication: Exceptional English communication skills; comfortable in diverse, multicultural, and high-pressure environments.
Presence: A preference for in-office leadership (5 days a week) to effectively mentor teams and remain connected to operations.
SummaryWe are looking for "Succession-Play" leaders and "True Controllers" who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves to fix a process or implement a new system. If you are a CPA who lives for the details of cost accounting and wants a role where your financial oversight directly impacts the bottom line, we want to hear from you.
