We are looking for a Controller to lead the financial operations of a manufacturing business based in Mississauga, Ontario. This position will oversee core accounting activities, support accurate reporting, and help guide budgeting, payroll, and financial analysis across the organization. The successful candidate will bring strong systems knowledge and a practical approach to improving financial visibility and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Direct day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company standards.
• Prepare timely financial statements, management reports, and other analysis to support leadership with informed business decisions.
• Oversee budgeting activities, monitor performance against forecasts, and identify key variances requiring follow-up.
• Manage payroll processes and related financial controls to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Use accounting platforms and reporting tools to streamline workflows, improve data quality, and support operational reporting needs.
• Produce ad hoc financial analysis and customized reports for leadership, using available systems and reporting software to address evolving business requirements.
• Collaborate with operational and administrative teams to strengthen financial processes and ensure consistent information flow across the business.
• Support ongoing improvements to financial systems, reporting practices, and internal controls as business needs change.
• Demonstrated experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role, preferably within manufacturing or a related project-based environment.
• CPA designation is a must.
• Strong knowledge of accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end or year-end processes.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software systems and confidence working with financial data across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with payroll administration and related reporting requirements.
• Ability to generate clear financial insights through ad hoc analysis, management reporting.
• Experience using business systems such as CRM platforms.
• Advanced attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
