What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Releases software, application and system changes to various environments including QA, UAT, Training, Production and Production support Adheres to standard release/installation procedures. Prepares detailed release/install related technical documentation which serves as an audit trail for the release/install. Works closely with quality assurance team to ensure final release/install package version is up to organizational standards. Works closely with information security team to ensure that new software version is approved for production release Ensures that a back-up plan exists for the release/install. Performs roll-backs if the release/install fails. Documents and follow-up with issues in the release/install package. Adheres to policies for release/install related communication. Ensures that User Acceptance and Business Validation has been received prior to and post release/install. Escalates issues as needed. Implements release/install related best practices. Collaborates with developers, business analysts and administrators to coordinate a successful release. Recommends process and system improvements based on installs. Automates install processes. Reviews and experiments with new tools and technologies for release/installs. Audits release/installs done by team members for accuracy and adherence to standards. Trains and mentors team members on release/install procedures. Create, maintain and enforce operational support criteria (owning the standards for what needs to be aligned for operations to accept a product

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires training in field of computer science or similar vocation generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years experience with releasing software, application or database changes. Minimum five (5) years of experience with SQL Server 2008 or higher and or Salesforce. Experience with SQL Server Administration tasks such as replication, database backups, restores, etc.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in configuration of Salesforce and/or IIS, web services installations, msi packages, reporting services installation. Experience in version control tools. Good understanding of Change Control Processes and ITIL/ITSM best practices. Good analytical and problem solving skills and detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication and Interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to provide 24 hour on-call production support on a rotational basis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Have working knowledge of Salesforce and/or Microsoft Operating systems (for example: Windows Server 2008)
