On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Delivery Manager.

Delivery Manager – Job Description

• Project to support the Real Time Rail (RTR) Project

• Currently in the middle of the project

• RTR will provide a platform for innovation to allow Payments Canada members to offer new ways for Canadians and Canadian businesses to pay and be paid in real-time, and to make use of rich payment data

• May be asked to work on other assignments as well

• Work with a team to identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments

• Being accountable for tracking the dependencies and impediments and removing them to enable the team: surface, track, escalate

• Guide and coach the team to follow agile practices

• Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved

• Assists in the identification and mitigation of project risks

• Identifies and acts on coaching opportunities at the individual and team level

• Conducts regular assessments of a team Agile Maturity and uses the results to guide them to improved performance

• Facilitate agile ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective) and longer-term planning exercises (Release Planning, Release Train Planning)

• Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to story grooming and maintaining the product backlog

• Pro-actively identify and mitigate risks using Agile best practices and project deliverables

• Needs to forecast the numbers of deliverables, which is based on evidence and reliable sources

• Needs to be expert in estimating and planning

• Create useful, reliable and practical plans for software development projects

• Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status

• Work closely with Finance to ensure the alignment of budgets, spending and forecasts

• Support budget tracking and variance mitigation efforts for the delivery team

• Coordinate operation readiness activities with associated teams (security, infrastructure, network, etc.)

• Oversee and coordinate software release activities

• Active participation and help assist in timely decision making in defining product backlog (working with Product Owner, Business Analyst); alignment to overall product architecture and technical design (working with Architect and Tech Leads)

• Regularly communicate with other scrum teams to ensure tactical story alignment and identifies/tracks dependencies between the team

• Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status

• Regularly reviewing sprint review and retrospective feedback and action items with them ensuring they are laser focused on efficient, quality engineering delivery

Delivery Manager – Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of previous experience as a Delivery Lead/Delivery Manager/Senior PM with Scrum experience

• Understands backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics, task definition, story splitting

• Good knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand the team's needs

• Familiar with common development practices, service-oriented environments and agile practices

• Hands-on experience leading release management activities for successful delivery of product launches

• Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills

• Diplomatic yet willing to have hard conversations with team members, products owner and delivery partners when there are challenges, issues impeding delivery execution

• Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to communicate at levels with all key organizational partners

• Need to be able to hit the ground running

• Great communication skills -oral and written

• Bachelor's Degree

Delivery Manager - Nice to Have Skills

• Previous experience as a Scrum Master

• Working experience in JIRA/Confluence

• Experience with System Design and work independent of Architect on creating pragmatic solutions to technical problems, working with the scrum team.

• Working experience in Digital solutions team in Finance industry is an asset

• Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent an asset
