Discover Ontario, Canada, and an exciting career with Ornge.Position Available : Flight Safety Compliance&Conformance AuditorStatus : PermanentFull-time,Non-UnionLocation : 5310 Explorer Drive,Mississauga,ONReports To : Director,Flight Operations SafetyPOSITION SUMMARY : Reporting to the Director, Flight Operations Safety, the Flight Safety Compliance and Conformance Auditor will be responsible for the contracted carrier audit program.
The candidate will perform annual audits including review and analysis of findings and associated corrective action plans, conduct year-over-year analysis of audit trends, prepare CADORs report reviews and analysis, as well as provide ongoing support for contracted carriers.
Responsibilities : Duties of theFlight Safety Compliance&Conformance Auditorinclude but are not limitedto :
- Plan and execute audit process :
- Performs internal evaluation audits as required-Maintains the Contracted Carrier oversight program by monitoring compliance with prescribed regulations, standards, and contractual requirements through regular and ADHOC audit-Identifies the scope of the audit process,who is to be involved,and what interviews must be conducted.
- Prepares a formal audit report detailing all pertinent findings for presentation
- Maintainthe Emergency Response Plan (ERP) :
- Performs regular reviews of the ERP Manualand makes revisions as required-Reviews and revises the ERP Contact List to ensure the document remains up to date-Prepares effective trial strategy, plans trial scenarios, and coordinates with various departments to ensure trails are successful and feedback is collected.
- Plans appropriate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) :
- Provides contracted carriers with recommendations to address identified deficiencies, prepares feedback, and approves the CAP submissions.
- Validate CAP implementation and effectiveness throughregular follow-ups-Maintains accurate audit and CAP records to support the audit process.
- Identifyand collect information :
- Decides the best way to document and presents the final report / assessment based on department orstake holderrequirements.
- Oversees reporting of Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) :
- Monitors the CADORS database daily and records all newly raised occurrence reports.-Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure occurrencesare investigated and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in response.
- Submits to the MOH complete summary of occurrences in accordance with the requirements of the Performance Agreement.
- Support the development and implementation of flight safety initiatives;
- Assist with regular Aviation Safety office tasks; and
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Post-secondary education in an aviation related field;
- Qualified as a Lead Auditor witha minimum of three (3) years of auditing experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ of operational experience inAviationFlightOperations, or in an aviation related field;
- Sound knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations / Standards and ability to interpret Aviation Regulations and Regulator documents;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report preparation and presentations;
- Strong computer acumen (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Adobe Suite);
- Self-motivated with excellent planning, prioritizing, and project management abilities;
- Audit experience in both maintenance and flight operations areas with both Fixed Wing and Rotor Wing operations is considered an asset;
- Accreditation as a Certified Auditor, Commercial Pilot, AME or Licensed Flight Dispatcher considered an asset;
- Fluent in both English and French would be considered an asset; and
- Ability to travel (up to 10 weeks in a year to remote locations for audits).
