Who we need
The Treasury and Debt Management (TDM) division of Emphasys provides solutions to help local governments modernize their investment, debt, and cash business systems.
Our solutions replace internal and legacy systems to increase reliability in financial reporting, improve workflow, reduce manual effort, and increase accuracy.
With over 400 clients nationwide, the TDM SymPro solution is well-positioned for our future planned growth and your success.
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Business Development, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to target new business and successfully close deals.
In addition, you will increase engagement of existing clients, selling additional products and services.

What you will do :
- Learn. You will build out your understanding of our value proposition to clearly articulate the benefits of SymPro solutions to all levels within the customer's organization.
- Research. You will conduct discovery calls with customers and prospects to understand organizational needs and structure, key decision makers, procurement processes, IT systems, and document workflow.
You will uncover customer investment and debt management processes and needs to match customer requirements to SymPro solutions.
- Qualify. You will build and manage a sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, the development of qualified leads, networking, and participating in regional and national conferences.
- Respond. You will draft customer proposals and negotiate client pricing requirements and concessions.
- Sell. You will leverage marketing slide decks and other collateral to build custom sales presentations and demonstrations specific to client needs.
- Be strategic. You will design short, mid, and long-term strategic and tactical execution plans to ensure success in your assigned territory and vertical market.
What you bring :
Experience. You have 2+ years of success in software solution sales. You have a proven track record of prospecting, developing leads, managing complex sales cycles, and closing deals with new-name customers.
Ideally, you have experience in selling to government entities.
Drive. You enjoy the early stages of the sales cycle, digging in to find contacts, make connections, and present solutions.
You can quickly ramp up to present yourself as a trusted advisor. You have a deep appreciation for diversity and welcome different perspectives and approaches.
An organized and professional approach. You take a consultative, ROI-focused tact to your sales with patience and focus, and you never lose sight of the big picture.
You have flexible and effective communication skills, adaptable to your audience, with an ability to engage, enlighten, and influence decision-makers.
You are process-focused and know how to balance urgency with long-term payoff.
Flexibility. You are willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.
