Clinical Research Recruiter Position Summary The Clinical Research Recruiter is responsible for developing and executing patient recruitment and retention strategies to meet enrollment targets across multiple clinical trials.
This role works closely with investigators, CRCs, sponsors, and marketing partners to ensure timely enrollment while maintaining compliance with ICH-GCP, Health Canada, FDA (as applicable), REB / IRB, and privacy regulations. The ideal candidate understands site-level operations, recruitment KPIs, and the financial impact of enrollment performance. Key Responsibilities Recruitment Strategy & Planning Develop and implement study-specific recruitment plans in collaboration with the study team. Review protocols to identify target populations, inclusion / exclusion challenges, and enrollment feasibility. Use various technology systems to support patient identification in various databases and track funnel outcomes to successful screenings. Forecast enrollment timelines and proactively identify risks to meeting targets. Monitor and report on recruitment metrics and trends. Patient Outreach & Engagement Conduct pre-screening calls using approved scripts and documentation tools. Educate potential participants about study requirements and expectations. Coordinate referrals from physicians, internal databases, central and site driven campaigns and community outreach. Maintain regular follow-up with interested candidates to improve conversion rates. Track patient and study candidate outreach in sites technology to ensure up to date and accurate. Marketing & Community Outreach Collaborate on development of IRB / REB-approved recruitment materials. Manage and / or support digital campaigns (social media, website inquiries, online platforms). Develop relationships with referring physicians / community partners and support data mining and chart screening. As needed, support local outreach initiatives (health fairs, patient advocacy groups). Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, communications, marketing, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience in clinical research recruitment considered. Experience 1–3 years in clinical research, healthcare recruitment, or patient engagement. Experience in cardio-metabolic preferred. Familiarity with CTMS, EMR, and recruitment tracking systems. Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to explain complex medical information clearly and empathetically. Data-driven mindset with comfort analyzing recruitment metrics. Highly organized with strong follow-up discipline. Understanding of ICH-GCP and research compliance requirements. Ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously. Work Environment Fast-paced, enrollment-driven clinical research site. Requires frequent phone and digital communication with patients.
