DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactively identify opportunities to quote plumbing & electrical equipment in Residential, Commercial & Small Industrial Projects
• Respond to customer inquiries related to plumbing & heating quotes and / or redirect the customer to the appropriate department
• Communicate project details, obtain, and review material quotes from vendors
• Prepare and provide quotes for new and existing customers, contractors, and sales managers
• Quote recommended equivalent / alternate products based on cost, availability, and / or specifications
• Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items
• Liaise between suppliers’ reps and customers for all inquiries, lead, and delivery times, to meet tender deadlines
• Provide clarification on engineering specifications sheets, plans, contractor takeoffs, and addendums
• Coordinate with other departments, particularly electrical, for business opportunities
• Maintain project documents both physical and electronic versions
• Entering projects and details in shared networks and Google networks
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns
• Review the quotes for errors or missed items
• Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
• Stay current with up-to-date product knowledge of all plumbing & heating equipment
• Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction
• Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
• Create PDF files of specification sheets, that are job-specific for project submittals and Owner operation manuals
• Prioritize projects of importance and / or urgent requests when possible
• Other responsibilities as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales) required
• Knowledge of or previous experience in the Plumbing or Heating wholesale industry required
• Previous experience and / or education in Project Management an asset
• Basic understanding of reading blueprints an asset .

Final candidates will be required to undergo an assessment and security screening , including a criminal record check. Employment is subject to screening completion that is satisfactory to Bartle & Gibson.
