Senior Database Engineer!

The ideal candidate is an integral part of a fast-paced development team that builds an integrated product suite of Enterprise applications in the EV Charging network domain. The Candidate will participate in the technical design of database SQL queries for new products, as well as review and tuning database queries in existing products. This candidate works closely with rest of cross-functional team to produce design documents, implement database optimizations, and provide benchmarks. What you’ll do :

The ideal candidate will be an integral part of a fast-paced development team that builds an integrated product suite of Enterprise applications in the EV Charging network domain

Candidate will participate in the technical design of database / SQL queries for new products, as well as review and tuning database queries in existing solutions

This candidate will work closely with rest of cross-functional team to produce design documents, implement database optimizations, and provide benchmark metrics

Design and contribute SQL aspects for web and microservice APIs based applications

Support Production Database

Implement DB partitioning, compression and indexing strategies for performance optimization

Define and execute data archival and deletion activity as per business and legal requirements.

Collaborate with cross functional teams including our Global Engineering teams in an Agile development environment

Proven experience successfully optimizing databases for performance & scalability

Provide queries for ad hoc data requirements.

Perform or help dev team in DB data migration activities.

Utilize problem solving skills to implement creative solutions to tough problems

Advocate for best-in-class database and storage solutions for large scale enterprise applications

What We’re Looking For :

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent experience required

7+ years of software development experience.

Creating database views, functions, and stored procedures

Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications

Creating database triggers for use in automation

Maintaining data quality and overseeing database security

Designing database tables and structures

Experience with GitHub / Bitbucket, Jira, Scrum, SonarCloud and CI / CD processes.

Experience working on software-as-a-service (SaaS), large scale distributed systems and relational / No-SQL databases

Experience working in a small team setting along with onshore development team

Strong verbal and written communication skills : proven ability to lead both vertically and horizontally to achieve results; thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment and do what it takes to deliver results

Committed to security practices in policy and delivery

Willing to be a model citizen / mentor in security practices for Shell Recharge Solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Strong proficiency in MySQL database management

Hands on experience with recent versions of MySQL (Prefer AWS RDS MySQL)

Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB

Experience with replication configuration in MySQL

Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL

Understanding and experience with AWS RDS, what are the limitations and benefits of RDS in general

Experience with optimizing indexes and queries

Understanding the Query Execution Plan

Experience using MySQL Performance tool like MySQLTuner

Nice to have - Knowledge of Elastic search and other NoSQL DB like MongoDB etc.
