Responsibilities Design and develop infotainment applications on Rivian and Volkswagen Group Android-based OS. Create modular and scalable software that can adapt to a variety of different products and use cases. Create design patterns and libraries to facilitate application developments. Lead the software design process while collaborating with other developers on technical issues, design choices, and decision making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and UI/UX design teams to define application features. Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations. Perform code reviews and apply continuous integration and development practices. Write test code to drive quality, robustness, and functional correctness. Design and implement subsequent application updates and releases. Investigate AOSP codebase to improve application performance and integration. Develop sample and demo applications, making use of our technology. Drive technical leadership and mentorship, supporting the growth of the team. members through knowledge sharing and guidance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent practical experience. Proven Android application developer with 8+ years of experience. Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and fundamental C++. Proficiency in using Android and Android Jetpack APIs, including knowledge of Android NDK and JNI. Knowledge of Android lifecycle and application interface guidelines. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Android’s performance and testing frameworks. Familiarity with Android framework services. Experience with developing multimedia and Bluetooth solutions is a plus. Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional teams. Prior experience in developing on-vehicle technology. Pay Disclosure * Salary range for Toronto applicants: $137,300 - $181,890 CAD. — The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Any posted salary range pertains only to the estimated starting pay for the role. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education, and location.
