This position is provisionally onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8 : 00 AM and 5 : 00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

About the Engagement

Our public‑sector client requires a Junior Front End Software Developer to support the design, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of front‑end applications and user interfaces for large, complex systems. The resource will work onsite at an OPS office and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across the full SDLC.

Scope

Translate technical specifications into functional, tested, high‑quality front‑end code.

Develop programming specifications, generate code, and perform unit testing across assigned modules.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues during development, implementation, conversion, and migration activities.

Support integration of front‑end features within large, complex, multi‑tier systems.

Ensure cross‑browser compatibility, responsive behaviour, and adherence to accessibility standards (AODA / WCAG).

Assignment Deliverables

Translate technical specifications into fully functioning, tested application modules.

Develop programming specifications, write / generate code, and conduct unit testing.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during development, implementation, and migration.

Support software conversions, migrations, and technical implementations.

Expertise Required

Must Have :

1+ years of Java programming experience, including use of IDEs (Eclipse, IBM RAD / RSA, IntelliJ, VS Code).

Experience with Hibernate / JPA.

1+ years in Angular (v2+).

1+ years in RESTful Web Services.

1+ years in JavaScript & TypeScript.

1+ years in HTML5 & CSS.

1+ years in Node / NPM.

Responsive web development.

Experience with Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Boot).

Experience with Bitbucket, Maven, and modern front-end build workflows.

1+ years Oracle DB experience including SQL queries and DB objects (tables, views, sequences, stored procedures, triggers).

Nice to Have

Understanding of Information Management concepts and practices.

Experience with middleware and gateway technologies.

Ability to review, analyze, and modify installation scripts (encoding, debugging, testing).

Experience conducting design walkthroughs with project teams.

Security Clearance

Required.
