As an Electrical Engineering Professional, you will contribute to a wide range ofmercial, healthcare, retail, and institutional building projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside architects, designers, engineers, and sustainability specialists to shape high-impact spaces through innovation and technical excellence.
Your Responsibilities• Collaborate with electrical engineers and technologists to design lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security,munications, and data systems for various building types.• Work closely with architecture, interior design, structural, and mechanical disciplines to deliver integrated and sustainable design oues.• Prepare technical reports and electrical design specifications.• Oversee project deliverables including BIM model development, schedules, milestones, and resource coordination.• Provide contract administration support for electrical engineering projects.• Help ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met by coordinating with the broader project team.• Apply local and national codes to ensurepliance throughout the design process.• Participate in all project phases—from concept and design through construction andpletion.• Attend construction meetings with owners and contractors.• Mentor and support junior team members.
What You Need to Succeed• University degree in Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.• P.Eng designation preferred; LET certification considered an asset.• 6–12 years of consulting experience in healthcare,mercial, institutional, or retail sectors.• Experience with power system design, lighting, fire safety, and IMIT systems within AEC or consulting engineering.• Strong knowledge of national and provincial building/electrical codes and CSA/ULC/TIA standards.• Proficiency in schematic design, detailed design, contract documents, and contract administration.• Advanced BIM capabilities with strong Revit proficiency (required).• Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage multiple project types.• Eligibility forernment of Canada Reliability Security Clearance.• LEED accreditation considered an asset.• Salary range: $95,000 – $120,000, depending on experience and contribution.What You Need to do NowIf you feel this position would be a good fit for your skillset, please apply below or forward your resume & portfolio to mitashna.dhiman@hays, and if your resume has been selected for an interview, we will be in touch directly.This posting is for an existing vacancy with the organization.AI may be used in the screening process for this role.
