Job Description
As the Import Coordinator, you will support Laura Canada by acting as a mediator between internal and external contributors to ensure time frames, quality and price are respected for import production.
You will follow up on the whole process from product development, price negotiation to delivery, and ensure the product meets all standards.
How will you support the team?
- Work with the Buying Team and Design Team to source new products (trims, fabrics and styles) to help to build the line with consideration of cost and quality.
- Negotiate prices and finalize the buy with the goal of achieving the best margin.
- Send out the Tech-Packs to ensure production is with executable delivery and quality.
- Follow up on bulk fabric and trims until approval and ensure to meet delivery timelines and maintain workflow updates with relevant information in a timely manner.
- Address all production issues from cradle to bulk and guide all contributors so that all products meet company standards in terms of quality.
- Manage issues by suggesting different alternatives to obtain win-win results.
- Source new vendors from different countries.
- Ensure that all contributors respect lead-time calendar to deliver timely.
Qualifications
The people who thrive with us have :
- 5 years experience in a similar position.
- Import experience (textiles and garments)
- Knowledge of measurements and specifications for garments
- Strong organization skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken to efficiently communicate with internal and external partners)
