This Position reports to:

Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager


The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the deployment of the quality strategy for the local organizational unit, fostering a strong quality culture, implementing effective systems and tools, and building competent teams. This role ensures customer expectations are met and exceeded through a balanced approach of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, and sustainable problem-solving. The position collaborates across functions to drive quality performance and contribute to world-class operational excellence. Core ResponsibilitiesQuality Operations & Process Support
  • Performs and/or coordinates activities related to designated areas within Quality, including customer and claims management, manufacturing quality, product safety and compliance, design and development quality, and audits and reporting.
  • Promotes the voice of the customer at the local unit and assists that risks, problems, and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • Conducts test protocols, as assigned, to ensure the parts, products, and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations in factory test labs.
  • Supports resolution of customer cases by following a robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Present a corrective solution to the customer for the identified quality issues
  • Supports and maintains the quality management system of local unit, in collaboration with local functions, including processes and tools to ensure flawless and repeatable process execution, identifying gaps, and exploring opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilizes local quality management system to provide the local teams with procedures that enable sustainable execution.
  • Leads the local teams in implementing an operational approach and process management system, continuously evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Supports the local organization by creating training material and delivering trainings on quality management system-related content.
  • Coordinates and participates in benchmarking activities within the industry, inside and outside ABB, to continuously challenge the status quo and further develop the organizational self-perception.
  • Supports initiatives to improve on agreed aspects of quality in collaboration with local units and across multiple units or functions as applicable.
  • Develop and update quality procedures, testing protocols, and risk management practices.
  • Assists in continuously identifying and addressing risks and opportunities related to quality management in the local organization.
  • Performs audits to assess compliance with the defined system.
  • Own end-to-end management of all quality and return cases
  • To have Technical Expertise on products to propose solutions
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting, and risks.
Non-Conformance Management
  • Perform inspections of selected products; maintain inspection logs.
  • Uses quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances.
  • Investigate root causes of non-conformances and document findings.
  • Create and maintain NCRs in the quality system; communicate status and resolutions to internal teams.
  • Track, document, and report quality metrics and KPIs (e.g., defect rates, nonconformances, audit findings).
  • Lead cross-functional investigations and corrective actions for process anomalies.
  • Manage interactions with feeder factories related to quality issues.
Strategic & Organizational Support
  • Support the deployment of quality management strategies and objectives within the local ABB unit.
  • Collaborate with management to shape functional design and development.
  • Promote a zero-defect vision and preventive quality mindset across teams.
  • Implement and evaluate operational approaches and process management systems.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve quality performance across units.
  • Manages relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial quality role.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards, quality systems, and root cause analysis tools.) (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Experience with digital platforms (SAP, Salesforce,Power BI,Power Apps) is an asset.
  • Having Six sigma green belt is an asset.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills.
