The Human Resources Department at Nature’s Fare Markets supports the success of the company, its staff, and customers, through the development and maintenance of strategic and value-added human resource programs, services, and processes.

JOB DETAILS

We have an opening for an in-person Human Resources Generalist at our Vernon, BC Head Office. Reporting to our Head of Human Resources and working within our team of five, you will assume responsibility for a broad range of HR activities, including but not limited to :

Supporting Team Members

  • Supporting Team Members, of all levels, across various retail locations with HR coaching, advising, performance management and disciplinary / termination support.
  • Responding to employment-related inquiries from employees and escalating complex HR issues and confidentiality to the right people.
  • Assist with employee related events such as staff anniversaries, birthdays, farewells, and overall engagement initiatives.

Performance Management

  • Provide recommendations and insight on performance review process, ensuring feedback for Team Members is relevant and meaningful.
  • Advising and supporting all performance management processes (i.e. action plans, annual reviews, and progressive discipline) and collecting relevant documentation.

Health & Safety Management

  • Coordinating with our third-party claims management provider to support all WCB claims, ensuring stores are following the process correctly.
  • Managing LOA requests and our return-to-work program
  • Managing the health and safety program for stores and head office, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe and NF policies and procedures
  • Developing monthly training topics that are relevant to trends and seasonal changes.
  • Connecting regularly with the stores to review all health and safety materials, including OH&S boards, meeting minutes, etc.

Other Duties

  • Helping to nurture and grow Nature’s Fare’s company culture
  • Supporting various administrative functions, such as policy / procedure development & implementation, employee file maintenance, drafting & delivering memos, creating employment contracts, etc.
  • Assisting with recruitment and onboarding process, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role
  • Post Secondary education in Human Resource Management or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
  • Working toward or possessing a CPHR designation considered a strong asset.
  • Strong technology skills : MS Office; Adobe; Power Point; HRIS systems
  • Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information with accuracy and efficiency.
