Here is what a typical day looks like

  • Review and interpret policy wordings and parameters to determine if coverage is in-force and triggered by the loss
  • Manage claims settlement process with independent adjusters; providing recommendations and direction for negotiation and settlement within authority provided by insurers
  • Perform in house adjustment of claims within authority granted by provincial authorities and insurers
  • Set and maintain accurate loss and expense reserves based upon investigation and / or recommendations; including validating independent adjusters’ or insurers’ reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
  • Perform business interruption calculations
  • Provid feedback to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
  • Maintain and action abeyance files and payment schedules
  • Draft and distribut correspondence to insureds, insurers, third party claimants, adjusters and other industry members
  • Participating in the Emergency After-Hours Claims Service on-call rotation

The value you bring :

  • General Insurance Level 2 License required
  • Working towards your CIP or CAIB preferred
  • RIBO License is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Claims in the insurance industry
  • Clear professional communication, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook

Hours : Full Time 37.5 hours / week

Location : Remote locations available within Canada

Salary : $64,000 - 85,000
