Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Scrum Master located in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. The role involves collaborating with development teams to create and prioritize user stories, remove impediments, and ensure smooth sprint execution. The Scrum Master will also work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate project progress across all phases of the Agile lifecycle using Scrum ceremonies and tools.
• Collaborate with dependent teams to define execution plans aligned with sprint goals and release timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery of product increments.
• Ensure all sprint and release milestones are met, including required reviews and approvals at each stage.
• Maintain clear documentation of sprint progress, impediments, and retrospective action items in Agile repositories.
• Continuously manage and communicate risks through a visible Agile risk register, escalating where necessary.
• Support sprint planning with detailed capacity tracking, backlog grooming, and realistic work commitments.
• Balance team capacity and sprint workload to ensure sustainable pace and predictable delivery.
• Collaborate on application release planning, including pre-release QA and post-release validations.
• Keep all stakeholders updated through Agile reporting tools, dashboards, and routine syncs.
• Set and manage expectations with Product Owners, Developers, and leadership through transparent communication.
• Identify blockers, dependencies, and issues requiring leadership intervention to ensure team flow.
• Effectively translate complex challenges into clear, actionable insights tailored to stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sprint Planning and creating and managing User Stories
• Strong Analytical Skills and ability to solve problems effectively
• Excellent Communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders
• Understanding of Software Development processes and best practices
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a hybrid work environment is an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
