Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the maintenance team to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment and facility systems. This role supports stamping, welding, and assembly operations by minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of maintenance technicians (mechanical, electrical, and tooling as applicable)
- Plan, assign, and prioritize daily maintenance activities to support production schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns involving presses, weld cells (robotic and manual), conveyors, assembly equipment, and auxiliary systems
- Ensure timely completion of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures
- Maintain and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support operational goals
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations, including Lockout / Tagout and Ontario OHSA requirements
- Monitor spare parts inventory, recommend purchases, and control maintenance-related costs
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and downtime reports
- Participate in audits and support customer and regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive2+ years of supervisory or lead-hand experienceStrong hands-on knowledge of :Stamping presses and related automation
Welding equipment (robotic and / or resistance welding preferred)Assembly lines and material handling systemsSolid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience with PLCs, sensors, VFDs, pneumatics, and hydraulicsFamiliarity with CMMS systemsStrong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance best practicesEducation & Certifications
Trade certification (Millwright 433A) preferredCollege diploma or equivalent technical training considered an assetSupervisory or leadership training is an assetSkills & Competencies
