General labor / Mechanic

POSITION OVERVIEW :

North Western Property Maintenance (NWPM) is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and organized General Labor / Mechanic to join our team for full-time employment in Surrey, BC.

Reporting to the Operations Controller, the person should be possesses a mechanical aptitude and is able to perform basic handyperson tasks around the shop.

They are responsible for overseeing cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard, helping to maintain vehicles, machines and tools, coordinating deliveries and pickups.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS :

• Participate in and contribute to morning meetings and activities
• Embrace NWPM Core Values and company culture of continuous improvement
• Take care of general maintenance and repair to shop and yard
• Fabricate continuous improvements and confident with use of hand and power tools
• Operate vehicles and machinery
• Manage vehicle fleet, machinery and tool maintenance with Operations Controller
• Audit Vendors and pricing yearly
• Keep organization in shop and yard following our LEAN method
• Load and unload supplies and / or garbage / recyclables to and from vehicles
• Ensure Shop and Yard are closed up daily
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :

This is a full time position. Average shift is 730am to 4pm. There are ample opportunities for overtime.
