JOB DESCRIPTION

The Strathcona Hotel, located in the heart of Vibrant Victoria is looking to hire a reliable, responsible, and energetic individual to join our front desk team.

Our ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized and has a passion for creating pleasant and positive experiences with our guests, patrons, and suppliers.

Part time or Full time

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Greeting Guests, and successfully completing the check in and checkout processes in a timely and pleasant manner.
• Creating and managing reservations for the hotel utilizing online sources, third party bookings, telephone inquiries, walk in guests, and internal bookings.
• Maximizing revenue by adhering to the policies and procedures of the Strathcona Hotel with regard to external / internal revenue sources such as hotel reservations, guest room upgrades, parking charges, gift card transactions / sales and special event ticket sales.
• Assisting Guests with information on local attractions, transportation, sightseeing tours, and informing them of Hotel amenities, venues, and / or events.
• Resolving Guest concerns to ensure they have the best experience possible.
• Answering the switchboard and dispatching calls to the appropriate departments, venues, and / or responding to guest and patron inquiries.
• Assisting the FOH with key sign in / out, cash reconciliations, and cash drops.
• Operating digital radios to communicate with various departments, and team members throughout the property.
